I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Maryland and a graduate of Smith College School for Social Work. My approach to therapy is grounded in psychodynamic theory, which allows me to see each client as unique and to understand how the past continues to shape the present. I believe that greater self-awareness can spark insight, growth, and long-lasting change. At the same time, I draw from CBT and DBT when practical tools can support your goals, and I integrate different approaches to match what feels most helpful for you.

I am also receiving ongoing training in working with autistic and ADHD individuals, as well as supporting parents of neurodiverse children. No matter what brings you to therapy, my commitment is to provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can explore yourself more fully.

Before joining Space Between Counseling Services, I worked as a high school counselor and outpatient provider for adolescents, where I developed creative approaches to helping teens manage anxiety, depression, suicidality, and grief. This included using art, writing, and even humor as ways to externalize emotions and build resilience.

I have also provided therapeutic case management for families impacted by generational trauma and family separation, which has made me especially attuned to the challenges of attachment and bonding between parents and children. My work as a disability rights activist and facilitator of conversations on whiteness and racialization also shape my lens as a therapist. I bring awareness of systemic oppression, ableism, and the ways culture influences suffering and healing into every session.

When you work with me, therapy is not about “fixing” you, it’s about building a relationship where you feel seen, heard, and safe to explore the parts of yourself that may feel confusing, painful, or difficult to put into words. I listen with openness and flexibility, and I meet you where you are, whether that means slowing down to sit with hard feelings, or leaning into curiosity about patterns and stories that may be shaping your life. Together, we create space to better understand your inner world and how it connects to your relationships, your history, and the environment around you.

I often integrate creative approaches into therapy because self-expression doesn’t always come through conversation alone. For some clients, that might look like art therapy, using paint, embroidery, or clay to support nervous system regulation and increase emotional resilience. For others, it could mean writing prompts, role-play, or narrative exercises that help externalize difficult feelings and bring in humor, perspective, or new insight. I’ve worked with teens who found relief in creating characters that represent different parts of themselves, and with families who used genograms shaped around a child’s special interests to better understand their interpersonal world. These creative tools are never one-size-fits-all, instead, they allow us to tailor therapy to what feels authentic and supportive for you.

Whether you are a teen navigating anxiety, depression, or grief; an adult carrying the weight of family trauma, loss, or high-pressure environments; or someone simply seeking a deeper connection to yourself, therapy with me is a collaborative process. My goal is to bring curiosity, compassion, and flexibility to every session so that together, we can create lasting and meaningful change.

Some Things We May Explore Together

My therapeutic practice aims to foster a deeper understanding about THREE things:

1.) How you’re doing

(How you’re experiencing the present.)

2.) Who you are

(How you’re experiencing yourself.)

3.) What’s under the surface

(How you came to be you.)

I facilitate therapy with a strong conviction that exploring these questions together can open up new possibilities for showing up with yourself, in your relationships, and in deep alignment with your values.

TELL ME ABOUT FEES AND INSURANCE?

Eviva’s individual fee is $175 per 60-minute intake session and 45-minute follow-up session.

SBCS is not paneled with any insurance plans but can offer you what's called "out-of-network" (OON) benefits. Not everyone has this as part of their benefits package, so please call your healthcare plan and ask these questions:

Do I have out-of-network benefits?
What percentage of my therapist's fee does my plan pay for?

MOST OON BENEFIT PLANS PAY BETWEEN 50-90% OF MY FEE.

At times, insurance plans request upfront billing codes SBCS will be using. You can share this list of codes with them for approval:

  • 90791  Psychiatric Diagnostic Assessment (from 1-4 sessions depending on the problem)

  • 90834 Psychotherapy, 45 minutes

  • 90847  Family Psychotherapy, conjoint psychotherapy with patient present

  • 90846 Family Psychotherapy, without patient present

  • 90887 Collateral visit

When using OON benefits, SBCS will provide you with a monthly document called a "superbill," which is like an invoice but contains the service codes, dates of treatment, and payments made during therapy. You would submit this to your plan directly, and your plan would reimburse you directly as well.

You can get in-network therapy if this is outside your budget. Your plan can identify providers who are in-network should you need to use your benefits.

HOW ARE MY RECORDS STORED?

Space Between Counseling Services utilizes a HIPAA compliant, encrypted, electronic medical record called SimplePractice that holds all of my client's mental health records safely in it. You will get a link to a client portal where you fill in demographic information and can access documents like invoices and superbills on your own.

SimplePractice has a credit card processing system named Stripe embedded in it. If choosing to work with SBCS you would upload your credit card number and SBCS would tap the card after each session or late cancellation for the fee. SBCS only have access to the last 4 digits of your card and it is completely secured.

DO YOU HAVE A CANCELlATION POLICY?

At Space Between Counseling Services, we have a 24 business hour cancellation policy. You will be responsible for an entire session fee if the change is made in less than 24 business hours' notice. Exceptions may be made for emergencies such as sudden illness or accident, at my discretion. It should be noted that insurance does not reimburse for canceled sessions and HSA and FSA cards can't be used in these cases.
